Affiliate marketing, at first glance, is a very simple concept – sell other people’s products and boom – affiliate marketing success! Check out my post on what is affiliate marketing.
If you are like me, I struggled with achieving affiliate marketing success for months before I actually started making sales.
If this describes you and you want to achieve affiliate marketing success – read on, as I’m going to help you get serious with affiliate marketing and earn big profits as well.
But first, how would you go about promoting an affiliate product?
The typical strategies are doing a blog post, sending an email out to your email subscribers, mentioning it on Facebook and Twitter -
That’s a pretty good campaign.
You’re getting the word out, talking about the benefits, etc.
While those are all the right methods, to experience massive affiliate marketing success, you have to be better than all the rest.
Everyone who is marketing as an affiliate for a product or service is also doing those same exact things.
You have to be better.
And the way to be the best affiliate marketer and experience top level success is by knowing as much about the product as the creator of it.
Yes, that’s right – know as much about that product as the person who developed it.
Your list of benefits for your customer should go on and on. You should be able to have a discussion on Twitter or Facebook about the product and answer questions about it.
With affiliate marketing, you are essentially recommending this product or service to your circle of influence and announcing to them, this would be of great value to you – buy it.
Believing and knowing that the product will benefit your customers are two completely different things.
It was only after realizing this that my affiliate sales started taking off, consistently.
Conveying your belief that “This new traffic product is so great, your traffic will explode!” is a good statement – there is nothing wrong with it in fact.
But being able to say “My traffic increased by 100 visitors a day with this product because it shows you how to do this and that” is showing your customers that you have used this product, you liked it, you saw success with it and now you are recommending it as something that would benefit them.
Half-heartedly talking about a product or service to your very own friends, followers and readers won’t bring you affiliate marketing success. It may even lead to them unliking you or unfollowing you.
Share a personal experience about your use of the product…
For example, I am an affiliate for Clickbank Secret Code. Yes, an affiliate link.
This amazing product was created by Dr. Joe Vitale, whom I have been a student of for years. He has written numerous books, most of which I have, and is a renowned speaker, author and marketer. I am a student in a coaching program with one of his contributing authors on this product.
So, you can see, I have a lot of knowledge of this product and its beginnings.
I purchased the Clickbank Secret Code when it was first released. Actually, the same day of its launch.
I have used the product and know that it works from personal experience. I saw my Clickbank commissions rise as soon as I implemented the methods he details in his book.
So I know that it would benefit you and I would recommend it to you.
By making a personal connection with the product, I am able to increase my sales and do my audience a favor at the same time.
Increasing your sales and experiencing success with affiliate marketing involves doing all the campaigning mentioned initially – articles, blogging, Facebook, Twitter, etc. but none of that will be effective unless you have experience with the product.
Here’s one final thought on truly knowing your product…
Mari Smith is known as a Social Media Guru. I watched an interview with her and the interviewer stated “Here’s Mari Smith, the person who may know as much about Facebook as Mark Zuckerberg.”
Become a product of your affiliate product – your knowledge will be evident and you will see massive affiliate marketing success.
