Now, you’re probably wondering about these sites – why did I pick these, are they any good, what do you have to do to get the free advertising –

Answers to your questions on these free advertising sites

First, why did I pick these – well, all of these sites offer you the ability to get free advertising to your website or squeeze page.  I had mentioned that I would look in to some free advertising and this is a list of sites that offer free advertising, or very low cost advertising.

Are they any good?  That question I can not answer.  I have signed up with a few but I am not seeing any measurable results yet.  The reason why is in my next answer…

What do you have to do to get the free advertising?  Most of the time, I have found that they require you to read other people’s emails.  The means of delivery may vary slightly but the basic idea is that you have to give something in order to get the full benefits of free advertising.  Here is an example:  Some sites require that you read the emails that arrive in your inbox and click on a link to get credit.  The amount of credit varies, but for every email you read, you bank more and more credits.  You can then use your credits to redeem for free advertising to your own site.

Final thoughts

Although I have not personally tested each and every one of these free advertising sites, they all offer varying degrees of free ads.  The requirements are all different, but I would suggest checking out a few and seeing what they require.

For this list building challenge that I am undertaking, I am not going to be relying on just free advertising.  I will use it, but not rely on it as my only source of traffic.

I am still going to use a combination of paid advertising and organic methods, which will grow my list over time.

Are those on your list some kind of traffic exchange programs Christine? Or sort of “you visit my site and I’ll visit yours” that kind of thing?

    • Hi Peter,

Most of these sites are on a much more targeted scale than traffic exchanges – these are sites that offer solo advertising in exchange for credits. The method that you earn the credit is different for each site, but most are email based. Since you are getting free solo advertising, reading other emails is usually one of the methods.

This list is just a sampling of all the free advertising available – so, if you’re looking for free, targeted advertising, these sites offer some good options.
