Have you ever thought about what you would do if you had to stay away from your online business for one week?

A whole week without even looking at your website.

How would things go?  Would it maintain all your readers?  Would your traffic plummet?

If you do the things that I’m about to share with you, you can rest assured, your business would be just fine!

As any online business owner knows, there is an endless supply of tasks to accomplish in one day.

Articles to write, campaigns to put into motion, partners to communicate with, orders to process – every one of these things is necessary for the progression of our businesses.

But wait, I thought the wonderful thing about an online business was more free time, more time to vacation, spend time with family and friends, do the things we enjoy?

The idea of an online business and the reality of the demands are usually two different things.

But it doesn’t have to be!

If you have the right tools in place to scale and automate your online business, you CAN leave it for a week and not logon.

Here are 3 steps to help you scale your business:schedulepic

  1. Schedule, schedule, schedule!  In this digital age, there is no reason why we need to be attached to the computer for 8 hours a day.  And so here is the beauty of scheduling.  Did you know you can write a blog post and schedule it for release at another time?  Have you ever used that feature?  Here’s a scenario – let’s say you are on a roll, typing away at your computer.  Before you know it, you’ve written 5 blog posts – perfect opportunity to take them and schedule them for release at every other day intervals, or how ever often you usually blog.  Schedule posts on social networks.  Then, since building a list of subscribers is something every online business owner should be doing, you can load several email messages into your autoresponder.  Set them up to go out every other day or so and you have a perfectly scheduled system in place – for blog posts and for traffic.
  2. Write and develop articles with an ulterior motive in mind.  Basically it works like this – as you write articles and blog posts and publish them on your blog, you are stacking up a huge database of information.  This is a goldmine of opportunity for you.  Every one of your blog posts represents an opportunity to use it again later.  Maybe it will become a more detailed blog post or an eBook or an actual book or an audio course or DVD’s.  ALL of your information can be scaled up to something bigger.
  3. Get your partners involved.  As a new Internet marketer, one of the best pieces of advice to keep in mind is to always build up your fellow online business owners businesses too.  Think of it this way – yes, they are building businesses similar to yours, yes you could see that as competition, but here’s another way to look at it – They are also your potential business partners.  You could very well decide to write an eBook with all of the blog posts you have stored and then have no idea how to put it together or market it or get affiliates for it or even how to sell it.  Your business partners can step in and co-author with you, maybe help with marketing it, even give you an opportunity to contribute to their book.  So, partners are essential and a key player in scaling your online business.

Using these three methods to scale your business will result in some serious momentum you can use for developing your business, product creation and future business opportunities.

Plus, you can take a one week vacation and feel a little more at ease with scheduled posts, social media schedules, autoresponders and your products all working together to further your business.

Great tips, Christine! I especially like #2 and strongly believe that it’s important to be strategic in the posts you write. I always try to write posts that can be used in other media and as parts of larger works, such as courses and books. Sometimes it doesn’t work out that you end up using the posts in other places, but it’s a great approach to have in mind.

you are a life saver!!!! I have three little ones 2 and under, selling on ebay every month, trying to establish my own online business and establishing three blog to support that business and I am overwhelmed, stressed, and frustrated that I cannot fully comprehend articles that are supposed to help me because the words they use are not actions I am familiar with. Thank you for explaining how to do each tool not just describing the tools benefits.
